Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a fashion camp?

Yes, but with a twist! We do fashion projects with sewing techniques and tools, and use STEM concepts (i.e. coding, geometry, fractions) in our projects.

Let's look at an example project: if we design a shirt, we'll learn about basic textile history, use fractions and geometry in creating the pattern, and learn how to problem solve any design issues while creating the design.

Where do the themes fit in?

Creatively-minded people take inspiration from the world around them, and this is how we approach our weekly themes. Each theme is designed to help students discover new materials, methods, or histories and integrate it into their fashion/design projects.

What do the students need to bring to camp?

Students need to bring a sketchbook and lunch, as well as a jacket for afternoon design walks.

How big are the classes?

We try to keep class sizes small in order to connect with students individually throughout the week. Our maximum class size is 15 students.
